Mates, Flathead and the Big Stage: Team Tooney at the 2025 Gold Coast Flathead Classic

Some stories take years to line up — ours has taken nearly two decades. Bongo and I first crossed paths back in 2008, and here we are in 2025, lining up side by side to represent Team Tooney Fishing at one of the biggest fishing events in the country: the Gold Coast Flathead Classic.
For us, it’s more than just a comp. It’s about mateship, the yarns that get told on the water, and the shared drive to chase adventure. This year, the rods are packed, the gear’s dialled in, and Team Tooney is officially locked in for the Classic kicking off 1 October 2025.
Back Where It All Began
It’s not just about landing big flathead — it’s about showing what Team Tooney stands for. Veteran roots. Good times with our mates. And living the adventure, no matter how tough the conditions get.
